Original Xbox mod problems

Post by fredthezombie »

I modded my xbox the other day and it was working great until I loaded a snes9x emulator along with an nes emulator. After the transfer I turned off the system and turned it back on to try the emulators, but it won't go past the unleashx logo screen. I found someone had a similar problem when they loaded a neo geo emulator, apparently to fix it he cold booted his xbox with an unleash x boot disc and removed the emulator that way, his console worked fine after. Problem is I don't know what cold boot is, or where to get or make an unleash x boot disc. I have cables to plug the hdd to my computer, could I do that and remove the emulator via xplorer 360? I see a bunch of posts about having to unlock the hdd? I am new to this so I am pretty confused. Any help would be great.

Any luck here?

I answered your other thread and I think your best bet is burning the "Slayer Evox Auto Installer" to a DV-R and using it to boot, FTP, and remove the emulator.

Use imgburn or similar software on PC to burn the raw iso of the slayer disc (on a DV-R, as that is supposed to be the most compatible).
See if that works for you. It's worth a shot anyway.

Also, did you back up the eeprom? That really does give you more options.

Hey, hope you don't mind recycling this thread:

I was wondering if anyone knows an easy way of copy/pasting an Xbox dash from one partition to another, and still having it boot as normal? (and where I would be copy pasting?)

I TSOP flashed the bios to Excecuter2 and it worked well enough, although, I had to do the whole Slayer disc thing afterwords to get it booting again. But I had to temp, install a working DVD drive to the system, which I really don't want to keep doing every time I want to make a change.

The boot screen stutters a bit and loads up slower, I think because it is installed on a freaking large partition on my replacement HDD.

Anyways, I want to repartition the larger part of my HDD (for various other reasons), but the UnleashX/XBMC is currently located on the F drive. I would like to move it to the C or E drive if possible and convenient.
Can I use the file manager to do this and then reformat as desired, or is it going to screw it up again (requiring me to reinstall my DVD drive with the slayer disc)?
