Rest In Peace JewWario

Post by TheSegaSaturnGuy »

For those who do not know long time Youtuber Justin Carmical (aka JewWario)tragically passed away this past Thursday. I have followed his videos for about a year now and they were always top notch. This was posted by his wife yesterday :
It is with a very sad heart that I must confirm my husband, Justin Carmical, sometimes known as the Jew Wario died on Thursday, January 23rd.

I also have to confirm he shot himself, but he was not alone, he locked himself in the bathroom and I was on the other side of the door talking with him. He knew I loved him, HE KNEW ALL OF YOU LOVED HIM. You all made him so happy, every time he was recognized from his videos, it made him giddy with joy.

His last recording was a song with Johnathan Mann, I don't know if Johnathan knows. He recorded it the night before.

I am surrounded by family and friends, and am taking this one moment at a time, remembering to breathe. I want to share with you what the Chaplain said to me, it was a momentary mistake, hold on to the good memories. I will post an update once a decision has been made about funeral arrangements.

If I need anything I will let you know, just hold on to each other and love each other, and thank you all so much for loving him so much.
I do not know if any of you are fans of JewWario but please go and watch his videos and let his memory live on. Justin battled many personal demons but he is in a better place now.
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

Wow, this is sad. I've watched a few of his things and actually had talked to him a few years back about being on the podcast (schedules never aligned). He seemed like a pretty nice guy.

That's fucked. What horrible trauma to have to now get through on top of losing a loved one. I hope she has a good network of people for support and comfort.

Nothing against you, but this kind of sentiment always irks me as a form of public remembrance - especially for cases of suicide. He was in a place where people around him loved him and where there were options for help that he apparently opted not to take or that gave up on. Now he's not. Saying he's somewhere "better" supports the logic that taking one's life as a way to end suffering and get to heaven (a concept we don't even know if he believed in) is an understandable (if not excusable) decision.

Sorry, I don't mean to rant - but it's important in cases of suicide not to tacitly condone the action by suggesting that he's "better" off now than he was. It's a narrative that perpetuates the tragedy.

Damn... good point dsh. But regardless, thanks for letting us know saturnguy, that is sad to hear how things happened. I hope his wife he manage to pull through this tragic time in her life.

Indeed. That sort of statement when someone dies always irked me too. I know it is people trying to deal with loss when they have a framework of religion in their lives, but yeah. It is like people begging for money always ending their sign/spiel with "God bless" in attempt to guilt you into giving whether they really need help or they're a lazy scammer.

This is honestly one of the saddest things I have ever read. I can't image what she is going through. I had a cousin commit suicide a few years ago. She took one of her husbands guns, drove her self to her college campus and proceeded to shoot herself in the head in the parking lot while sitting in her car. It was the middle of the night and people found her the next day.

Suicide is incredibly sad. It's sad for the families and the people that commit the act. Those people think their lives are so bad that the only way out is to kill themselves. In my opinion they have some form of a mental illness. So, the same type of logic that applies to us, doesn't necessarily apply to them. They don't think that counseling or medicine will help their state of mind. They look at it as outside forces are keeping them from happiness, things that are out of their control.

I never heard of the guy until this post, but I'm really bothered by the situation. I feel for his wife and hope she is able to mourn in a healthy way and doesn't blame herself for not being able to stop him.

I dont know the full details and never heard of him till i seen a video by "HappyConsoleGamer", but dont understand how someone can take their life knowing people love them around and that person knows it, i mean he was married, and people on his youtube channel loved him it seems.

There is probably alot more to story, but we may never know.

RIP.

Good lord, that's horrible. When I first saw this topic I thought that his death was a result of an accident or illness, not suicide. Normally celebrity deaths don't affect me much, but suicide is completely different. It's just so incredibly tragic that someone could reach a point where death is preferable to continuing to live.

depression is a very complicated and intricate affliction, and it is very real, as much as some might try to downplay its legitimacy.

this is really, really sad and my condolences go out to his friends, fans and family, especially his wife. this is not the kind of news i wanted to start my monday out with, but there you go. :?
