are there any websites that review japanese saturn games?
theres alot of games that look interesting but i have no idea how to tell which are the ones that dont rely on tediously trying to decipher japanese text.

Gamefaqs is good, Gamespot actually has some reviews of imports, some online stores like play-asia.com have customer reviews. I like videogameimports.com, it's a great place to buy (maybe a little expensive) and there are quite a few honest reviews (I think they are done by the guy who runs the site). It also depends on what you are looking for. 2D shooter reviews can be found on shmups.com, defunctgames.com and some people's personal pages like www.angelfire.com/al2/jp. The forums on shmups.com also have a lot of information. It is true that many reviewers never tell you how much Japanese you need to play the games...

the best possible place is Segagaga Domain, although the guy claims its not a review site, ive always liked most of his opinions.
very well organized and very very full of reviews

Go to www.archive.org and see if you can dig up any past incarnations of Dave's Sega Saturn Page (http://www.sega-saturn.com/). Just put the link into the search box. There were lots of Japanese reviews there.
