I wanted to do a thread focusing on specific game elements that impressed us this year, as I think the individual components that make up games deserve recognition. And this isn't limited solely to what's in the topic title. You can mention favorite characters, gimmicks, stories, whatever. I'm still thinking about my own choices for a future post, but I wanted to just get this thread out there for discussion.

From a technical standpoint, it's hard to top Crysis 3 in terms of graphics. Some of those areas are jaw dropping gorgeous with a monster rig. I'm running dual 7970's at the moment, and crysis 3 makes my rig sing.
