Reccomended Run N Guns for people buying a Retron5
Reccomended Run N Guns for people buying a Retron5
I'm in the mood for some run n guns to kick off my foray into the Retron 5. Besdies the Contras and the gunstars. What's out there? Doom Troopers and Midnight resistance look awesome but what other contralikes are out there for consoles of yore?

SNES:
Sunset Riders
Turrican 1&2
Rendering Ranger
Doom Trooper
Terminator
Gunforce
Soldiers of Fortune/Chaos Engine
Genesis:
Predator 2
Alien Soldier
Atomic Runner
Dinosaurs for Hire
Adventures of Batman and Robin
And many of the above
NES:
GI joe
Guerilla War
Journey to Silius
Heavy Barrel
Jackal
GBA:
Scourge the Hive
Metal Slug Advance
CT Special Forces
Some of those are topdown or isometric - not sure if that is something you are going for. I highly recommend Sunset Riders on the SNES and CT Special Forces on the GBA:

GunForce and Sunset Riders both come to mind. And you might also be interested in the Super Turrican series.TheRev wrote:I'm in the mood for some run n guns to kick off my foray into the Retron 5. EDIT: Well, I see I've been beaten to the punch.
You might also consider RoboCop Vs. Terminator or the Earthworm Jim games.
