xbox 360 wireless receiver issue

Post by jay_red »

I finally got a wireless receiver for my pc to simplify configuring controls (considering most games detect the 360 controller automatically) but had a weird issue when I got it working. I was testing out the AVGN Adventures game, and it was playing fine until I was hit, as soon as that happened, the controller turned off. I turned it back on and it kept happening, ever time I was hit. Batteries are fine, I even tried a different 360 controller with the same issue.

I tried a different game (hotline miami) and could not replicate the problem. Searching online did not provide much info, I found one person that had what sounded like the same problem, and people said it was his rumble motor messing up the controller, and just said to turn rumble off. Anyway, has anyone ever heard of this issue? any ideas?

BTW the receiver is the official Microsoft one.

Edit:
Swapped the receiver to a USB 3.0 spot and it works fine, I had swapped it between a few of the ones on the back, but always forget I have the 3.0. I dont know what caused it to work, but it seems good to go now.

I had this same problem the other day playing Nitronic Rush. I was all good until I hit a wall, then the controller cut off. Once I turned off rumble, everything was fine. Maybe I'll try switching USB ports too.
