Question about Space Channel: Part 2

Post by Leaf »

As in the PS2 sequel to the Dreamcast game.

I was thinking of getting the DC original but someone I know has told me Part 2 has both the sequel and the original included. I looked it up on Wikipedia, as you do, and it didn't mention anything about a bundle, so I thought I'd just double-check with you guys, just in case he's thinking of a special edition or something.

Cheers.
Currently playing: Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS), Shenmue (Dreamcast), Dragon Warrior VII (PS1).

There was a bundle in America called 'Space Channel 5: Special Edition' that has both games in it. In Europe the games were released separately. Good luck finding any of the PS2 versions though, they're pretty darn rare.

Oh thank you. I thought he may have been talking about a special edition. I'd like to start from the beginning so I'll get the DC original first after all.

There is also a Gamecube version, I think.

The ps2 version with both is really cheap used at gamestop. You should have no problem with it.

I'd just like to point out (as I was very surprised and glad to know) that there is apparently a translation for SC2 on the DC that gets you the english audio (someone on these forums told me about it). Apparently the industrious people got the audio from the PS2 english version and put it on the DC (japanese only). If you don't mind burning it on a CD for the privilege to play on the DC with english, it's a cool idea.

The american PS2 version is not rare at all, in fact there are a lot on ebay for less than $10 shipped, I got my copy new at bestbuy a year ago for $10 too, the hacked DC version isn't really worth it, not all the voices are changed, sometimes characters have their english voices and sometimes the japanese ones, also every screen that has a video has the graphics very screwed up.
