Oh go ahead and open it, you'll never get rich selling video games. Its the only way to verify if the game works or is even is inside. You do not want to wait years later to finally open it when the game is even harder to find.

Exactly. The only way to tell if it is sealed is to open it.

we are sarcastic because we care.

There are very few sega genesis games worth big bucks. Ecco is pretty common.

I guess you can keep it closed/sealed if you want, if you find another open copy.

no biggie.

This.....

And I can't imagine a sealed Ecco is worth much anyway.

With a team effort we CAN make opened games more valuable than sealed games.

Examples:

Streets of Rage, unsealed by Nathan Barnatt.

Turtles in Time, unsealed by Cory Feldman.

Rogue Leader, unsealed by Denis Lawson (you may have to google that one).

I found a sealed copy of Secret of Evermore in a Zellers bargain bin -- $5.99 with 50% off clearance items, came to $3.35 with tax. One of those "we found it under a shelf in the warehouse and put it out on the floor" situations. I gave it (along with a SNES) to a terminally ill boy in the hospital -- watching him open it up and play was a really special memory for me. Also a reminder that games are meant to be enjoyed, not stored unopened on a shelf.

So I agree with the general sentiment here -- open it up, play it, enjoy it for what it is. :)
