sega cd model 1 freeze

Hi I have a working model 1 cd that works(crazy I know) but when using games I hae played before on my model 2 cd seem to freeze a lot at transition screens, for instance when sonic goes into the future in sonic cd, anyone heard of such a thing? It consistantly freezes at the same spot in sonic cd. Maybe the model 1 is known for freezing more than 2?

You could have a gear issue for the CD laser and something is happening at that particular moment in the game that needs to read something from the CD and it's not working properly.
