PS1 Original 288p RGB or GSM 448i/512i Component?

Post by BitFaced »

Not too much else to say: Should I use an original PS1 through RGB SCART in 240p/288p plus an external scaling device or PS2 (through the backward compatibility) through Component in GSM in 448i/512i?

The PS2 will output in the PS1 game's original resolution.

Even through GSM PS1 SDTV modes? Because in the spreadsheet I saw "448i and 512i".

Seems a bit weird. Though I've never considered trying it.
I doubt interlacing games will make them look better, a modern TV needs to de-interlace them anyway.
Lum fan.

I don't know much about GSM, but that only works on PS2 games. We were talking about PS1 games (right?)

Yeah, but there IS a compatibility spreadsheet for PS1 games and an option for SDTV PS1 modes.
