Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Kickstarter

This has been brought up a couple times in the Kickstarter thread, but I think this deserves its own discussion. The campaign for the 3rd title in the Shantae series is in its final week, and while it has already passed its funding goal, those stretch goals look amazing, and it's sad we'll probably not be able to see any of them, save for the first one. Still, the project could use some more backers to see if it can make it. Who knows? Stranger things have happened. I'm a huge fan of the Shantae games myself, so I'm really excited to see this game released!

Backed it pretty early on, but I agree that it's sad that it's not seeing much love. Even with Mighty No. 9's support, I think the game is just to obscure to enough attention to reach the higher stretch goals. Luckily, they will be continuing the PayPal funds past the Kickstarter period which will go toward the goals.

They said that they would be keeping funding going up until near the game's release on their site, and it's not unreasonable to think that some of the stretch goal chapters could be paid DLC later on.

That is exactly what I was thinking.
With the release date being Nov 2013 I think the game and such has to be mostly, if not totally, finished. If that is true then all of the goals were probably already completed too.

I agree that they'll probably add in more later, that's why I mentioned PayPal. Also, estimated release date isn't until October 2014. They're stating that the game is currently in pre-production.

How far into development is this game? Is what we're seeing final?
We're currently in pre-production. Everything you see here is an early proof-of-concept. We have not gone into full development on this game, but we'd love to!
