Best of 2013

Post by Gamerforlife »

So what are your fave games this year? I know there's a few more months to go, but we can update the thread with more stuff as they come. We've already seen most of this year's important releases(specially with GTA V coming out), and the coming months will likely be all about next gen consoles anyway

My favorites:

Puppeteer
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Guacamelee
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
Fist Puncher
Castle of Illusion HD
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Honorable Mentions:

Fire Emblem Awakening
Ducktales Remastered

Biggest Disappointments:

Charlie Murder
Dragon's Crown
Killer is Dead

Holy crap, you just made me realize I haven't played a single game that came out this year. I've been way too busy lately.

I think Dota2 is the only game I played this year, and that's when it was in beta.

A bit early to do this I think, especially with two new consoles coming out in november.

Too soon to call honestly. I have a feeling that the upcoming Etrian Odyssey, Ys, and Zelda games will rank pretty high on my list.

Well, so far:

Fire Emblem: Awakening

Wind Waker HD

Injustice: Gods Among Us

I haven't played many games released this year either and the year is hardly done. I still have Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Sonic Lost Worlds, Watch Dogs, GTA V, and Super Mario 3D World to play, plus whatever else I have missed that have already come out.

Quiz RPG!

OK, it's probably not the best, but I really like it and it is one of the few 2013 games I have played.

So far for me, it's Shin Megami Tensei IV.

God, I'm way too predictable...

Why make a thread like this when the year isn't over yet? Usually christmas is the best time period of the year for game releases. Cant really talk about RPG of the year before Wasteland 2 gets released and so on.
Some strong contenders:
WRPG: Conquistador expeditions/Shadowrun Returns
JRPG: Shin Megami Tensei IV
Strategy: Europa Universalis IV/Total War: Rome II
RTS: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
Platformer: 2D: Rayman Legends 3D: Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Fighter: Injustice/Guilty Gear Xrd (if it will be released this year)
FPS: Bioshock Infinite
Sandbox: GTA V
Action adventure: The last of us
Horror: Outlast/Amnesia a machine for pigs
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box
