Game Maker Studio vs. Multimedia Fusion 2 ?
So over the weekend I started messing around w/ the free version of Game Maker. It seems pretty good, and I'm just working through the tutorials (slowly). But I know I've seen some other folks swear by MultiMedia Fusion 2. That said, I'm curious the pros/cons of each. What is it that makes you like one over the other?

They are very, very different, honestly. Most people I know who are really good with MMF2 are just flat out lost with Game Maker, and vice versa. If you were to switch over to MMF right now for example after learning your way around Game Maker, you'll end up really confused I imagine.
Both are very powerful, and if you're clever you can get them to do some pretty insane things.
I know my way around MMF2 pretty well, but honestly I'd probably suggest Game Maker over MMF for someone just starting out, since there's actually scripting language built in that could help you get your feet wet in more advanced programming down the line. I think Game Maker might have more options for exporting as well, iirc many iOS games and such have been made with it.

thanks for the response Apple. Yeah, the scripting thing does seem like a total plus. And even just exploring that first tutorial I ended up doing some outside research and used a bit of code to change a font color. I guess just knowing that kind of stuff is an option is really nice. Plus, there's seems to be far more documentation on GM, which I like a lot as it makes it far more feasible to find answers to my questions just by Googling.AppleQueso wrote: I know my way around MMF2 pretty well, but honestly I'd probably suggest Game Maker over MMF for someone just starting out, since there's actually scripting language built in that could help you get your feet wet in more advanced programming down the line.
