Hello, I have an original phat PS3 60gb model. Well its time for a special upgrade question considering 60gb is not doable for my ps3. I'm planning to get at 1tb hard drive. I was wondering what would be best for a ps3 to be safe zone: performace, speed, cool safe zone? I know there are hd drives that do 5200 rpm to 7200 rpm. Also the hd cache goes from size 8mb to 24 mb. Also the SATA performace rate 3.0Gb/s. What would be best hd drive specs for phat PS3 60gb model?
Thank you guys

Re: PS3 Hdd upgrade
I want to think that the PS3's original HDD is a 5400rpm, so when I upgraded I stuck with that. There are also some eco-friendly, low energy consuming HDD's that may help with heat, but I don't think it will make a huge difference.
Just keep in mind that when I upgraded my PS3's HDD I stripped nearly every screw holding the HDD into the cage. Sony must use some kind of torque wrench or something to tighten them down because they are super tight and they are extremely soft metal so they strip extremely easily.
I actually had to use a drill with a super small bit and bore out the screws to get the old drive out of the cage. When all was said and done, I had ONE screw left to put the drive in the cage. It was one of the most frustrating things I've ever had to deal with.
