Avoid Cobricon Games on Amazon.com!

Post by ninjainspandex »

So a week or so ago I ordered a copy of Breath of Fire 2 off amazon from this seller the Cart was listed that it was in good condition and no mention of any defect. Maybe I'm just picky about cart condition but the way I recieved it I would never List it saying its in good condition.

I then sent him an email back explaining my issue. A few days went by with no response so I ended up leaving him a 1 star Review explaining my grievances. This was my feedback to him. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?ie=UT ... 1XF67FWOIL
"Item listed as good condition, received item in terrible condition. label was badly worn and cart was damaged, none of which was mentioned in the description. Contacted the seller but no response. I would be very careful about buying something from this seller without a detailed description."

The next day he left a response to my negative feedback (funny how quick he was to respond to that) with this
" Game was in excellent condition as stated. We even offered him a refund but he never responded. Scammer!"

Oh so now your admitting the cart was in excellent condition now? and that you sent me a response offering a refund? Thats funny because my Amazon Inbox is still empty and nothing in my email. Looks like someone else left him a 1 star response with a ps1 game that was scratched and didn't work and that he offered a refund but the buyer never responded and once again claimed scammer.

Now normally I probably would of just let this slide with a 1 star response and moved on with my life but he was so blatant with his lies that I just felt like sharing it here. Not sure what my recourses are on amazon. Is this something I can open a claim on? would they require me to send the cart back first before a refund? Because if so I would never ever trust the guy to refund my money after I sent him back the cart, most likely he would just claim he never got it. Would Amazon be able to tell that he never sent me a response before claiming he offered me a refund. I apologies for my ranting just a bit pissed off right now, hopefully I can save someone else from being scammed by him.

Yeah, that's worth getting upset over. If it was $5.00usd I'd drop it, but nearly $40.00usd for something that looks like that isn't right.

I don't know the regs on ebay, but surely you can file a complaint, right? If the guy is a big seller, you can always file a BBB report. Hit him where it hurts as you obviously got ripped off. That crack on the cart is even worse than the label.

Sorry you screwed, and I hope he makes good.

Just file a claim with Amazon as you have most definitely been scammed. They'll open an investigation and you're armed with picture evidence. Amazon takes their condition listings even more seriously than eBay and have a clear list of guidelines for what you can or can't claim a video game's condition to be.

General Conditions:
New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened item in its original packaging, with all original packaging materials included. Original protective wrapping, if any, is intact. Original manufacturer's warranty, if any, still applies, with warranty details included in the listing comments.
Refurbished: Use only if noted in the Category-Specific Condition Guidelines. A refurbished product has been professionally restored to working order. Typically this means that the product has been inspected, cleaned, and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications. The item may or may not be in its original packaging. The manufacturer's or refurbisher's warranty must apply and should be included in the listing comments. Refurbished items are sometimes referred to as "remanufactured."
Used - Like New: An apparently untouched item in perfect condition. Original protective wrapping may be missing, but the original packaging is intact and pristine. There are absolutely no signs of wear on the item or its packaging. Instructions are included. Item is suitable for presenting as a gift.
Used - Very Good: A well-cared-for item that has seen limited use but remains in great condition. The item is complete, unmarked, and undamaged, but may show some limited signs of wear. Item works perfectly.
Used - Good: Use only if noted in the Category-Specific Condition Guidelines. The item shows wear from consistent use, but it remains in good condition and works perfectly. It may be marked, have identifying markings on it, or show other signs of previous use.
Used - Acceptable: Use only if noted in the Category-Specific Condition Guidelines. The item is fairly worn but continues to work perfectly. Signs of wear can include aesthetic issues such as scratches, dents, and worn corners. The item may have identifying markings on it or show other signs of previous use.
Video Game Specific Conditions:
New: Unless specified in the product title, all new video game items are assumed to be in full retail packaging. Bulk, plain white box, or other types of packaging are not allowed unless specifically called out in the product title.
Used - Like New: Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.
Used - Very Good: Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.
Used - Good: Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.
Used - Acceptable: You must note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.
Unacceptable: Video games without essential accompanying material are not permitted. This does not necessarily include the box or instructions.
Under Amazon guidelines it should have been listed as acceptable along with details about what was missing and about the damage.

I've had to deal with this sort of thing before. The buyer protections that companies like Amazon have are there for a reason and they work pretty well. Don't by shy about it, you'll have your money back in no-time.

Contact Amazon immediately.

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago - except the seller sent the wrong item and didn't own up.

Amazon took care of things, the seller was useless.

Maybe, but that's kind of weird.

I don't know if it does it automatically because I usually wait for the dust to settle before leaving any feedback since sometimes sellers relent once Amazon comes after them.

Usually when you file a claim if it's an open and shut case Amazon gives you the option of taking a giftcard or waiting for them to finish their investigation so you can get a full refund.

Glad it worked out though.
