I just received an email that says I was either using a bot or otherwise cheating in Diablo III; It also mentions that repeals of this are rare, and I'm probably SOL.
I haven't played Diablo III since Mid 2012 (around the Error 37 stuff) and my account info is written on a piece of paper in a cupboard at home (I'm out of town for work so I can't retrieve it).
So did my account get hacked? I don't even know the password to get in (thanks to that, my account login is now locked while I tried to guess the password I made up when they rejected 5 of my defaults).
I recall I spent about a month on my characters, and I'd made it pretty far into the game while doing my usual (probably too heavy) grinding with one of them.
What can I do? Should I just forget it and buy another account when I decide I want to play it again and take Blizzard's word that my characters are pretty-much deleted at this point?
Battle.net account erroneously locked.
Re: Battle.net account erroneously locked.
Are you sure the email is actually form Blizzard, I got emails from 'them' all the time telling me I am locked out of my account, etc. Never actually been from Blizzard.Anapan wrote:I just received an email that says I was either using a bot or otherwise cheating in Diablo III; It also mentions that repeals of this are rare, and I'm probably SOL.

Re: Battle.net account erroneously locked.
I've gotten phishing emails like that before as well.
When you get back home, try to log in (obviously, don't click any links in that email and put login information in). If things aren't working, go through Blizzard's support process. They have account recovery steps, though you'll probably have to scan your driver's license or something to send to them.
Decent chance that nothing at all actually happened with your account though.

Re: Battle.net account erroneously locked.
It's most likely bogus, like the other members have said. I don't even have a PC that will play those games right now, have an authenticator on my account, and will still get emails saying I have been locked or banned.
