So, I bought a VGA cord for my Dreamcast, but silly me I didn't check to see if my TV had the analog inputs to accompany VGA. Turns out, those white and red inputs were for the HDMI input, for whatever reason, and not VGA. So two questions.
1. Does such a cord - VGA + digital sound Dreamcast cable - exist?
2. If not, will this thing actually work?

There's no 'headphone' style input to go with the VGA? Or you don't have a stereo tuner set up there to run sound to?

I don't have it anymore but I used a VGA to HDMI converter box that had RCA jacks when I had a Dreamcast and that worked really quite well. It was cheap as I remember, around $30. That might be an option for you.

Nope. Just a digital input. And no stereo tuner, either. Just a TV.Hobie-wan wrote:There's no 'headphone' style input to go with the VGA? Or you don't have a stereo tuner set up there to run sound to?
What's the benefit of VGA-to-HDMI converter over analog-to-digital converter? Also, which one did you get? I know a couple of them were supposed to have a high failure rate.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I don't have it anymore but I used a VGA to HDMI converter box that had RCA jacks when I had a Dreamcast and that worked really quite well. Only if that optical input actually works with the VGA port.o.pwuaioc wrote: 2. If not, will this thing actually work?
