I don't see the appeal to HD releases.

If I didn't already own the game, I get the appeal. But say, with SOTC, the PS2 original is fine by me.

If anything I would say SOTC is one of the games that the HD remake is the preferred version regardless of the graphics, purely because of slowdown not being present.

I agree that I see little incentive in handing over my money for a graphical update to a game that really hasn't even aged that poorly. Even if it is one of my favorites of the franchise.

emwearz is right, though, the updates to SotC and ICO (especially in the US) plus the budget price, and the bonus content more than made it a worthy purchase, in my opinion. (I actually bought the Limited Edition Japanese set version, too. )

Pass on Wind Waker HD, though. I can turn the GC version into a half-hero mode just by not picking up hearts.

Totally see your line of reasoning, but SOTC and ICO in my blurred eyes were perfect to begin with. Perfect.

I'll admit I am a bit close minded as I have yet to play the HD versions, but as with the remastered STAR WARS movies, I don't see the need to improve on something that was perfect to begin with. And trust me, I don't use the word "Perfect" when it comes to games often. I also hate the use of the word "epic", but SOTC and ICO are in a league of their own and qualify as epic to me, HD or not.

Not bashing the HD versions at all, simply saying that those games are incredible, HD or not.
