Not much to be said, but I thought I should let the community know that Rey's no longer with us.

I had sent out a PS2 network adapter and sata bridge to him last week, and didn't realize he didn't take Paypal. I mailed out payment to him Friday and got a "Cool, I'll let you know when it comes in" PM back. Tuesday night my parents got a phone call, which I heard when I went to visit them Wednesday. It was strange, just a "Hello Dave, this is Jeff, I'm calling in regards to your correspondence with Rey Diaz, please call me back"... I had never given Rey my parent's phone number, nor have I given anyone my parent's phone number in well over a decade. I'm honestly not even sure he had their address.

I played phone tag until just a couple hours ago I was able to get through to Jeff who let me know that Rey's no longer with us. Apparently it happened Sunday. I didn't ask for details, since I won't pretend to have known him well. Talked a little bit on various forums (mostly Underground Gamer), and this was going to be my first project he would do for me.

I posted this in his FS thread too just as a heads up to anyone who was working on business with him, but it was suggested I might want to make a more general thread too. So there it is. That's all the information I have, but I know he'll be missed.

i still have the PS1 he modded for me. we used to talk often and shared jokes, stories through yahoo messenger. he likes shooting since he loves to show off his guns. he once wanted to meet-up, hangout and play games when he was still in southern california....but he moved to the east coast. lost in touch with him ever since and he stopped login in YM for a while. i'll miss you bud.

He was a really cool guy. He modded a PS1 for me a while back, and we talked on YIM pretty often too.

Definitely shitty news, especially since we lost Breetai not too long ago too.
