Psp analogue issue
A few months ago I purchased a Psp from a friend and it was fine until around a week ago when I wanted to play some games I picked up for it. When ever I get into a game that uses the analogue the character just walks backwards even if I hold the analogue all the way up. I've tried re calibrating it in the system settings and taking it apart and cleaning the contacts. Is my only option to buy a new analogue? And if so which analogue replacement would you recommend?

Re: Psp analogue issue
I had a similar issue a while ago. For the first few times, it fixed itself, but it got worse and worse as time went on and most of my games were unplayable.
My issue was caused by a slightly warped faceplate that pressed on the D-pad and the analog stick. If I pressed down on the D-pad, the stick would go down and stay that way.
Eventually I removed the faceplate and got everything back into its original positions. Then I chiseled out the offending screw receptacles and put it back on. Of course, the missing screws caused more problems. I fixed them with tape.
No problems now, even if it looks goofy.

Re: Psp analogue issue
^This. I had a similar issue a couple of years ago on my phat. The character keeps walking forward, and I actually replaced the analog twice but the issue persisted. Turns out the problem was that the broken screwhole in the faceplate was the culprit, it was preventing the square thing that housed the analog stick from making proper contact (the giveaway was that the problem doesn't occur when I'm pressing down really hard on the PSP.)Valkyrie-Favor wrote:I had a similar issue a while ago. You should try to check first if it was some problem with the face plate that's causing the issue. After eliminating that, you can buy a new analogue stick. Replacing it is easy as it's just one part that attaches to the faceplate.

Re: Psp analogue issue
I just tried this and when I push down near the analogue it gets stuck moving up rather than down, I was planning on buying a new faceplate since this one is terribly scratched, so if that doesn't fix it I'll probably just buy a new analogue with it just in case.tintinmayo wrote:^This. I'd suggest a new analog sensor. They're pretty easy to replace, and were cheap when I replaced mine.

For the DX one, there's many positive reviews and for that price, it's definitely worth a shot.
