What do you guys think of the 3DO? I know it gets alot of crap, but i actually like it! Return Fire is the greatest multiplayer game of all time!

I personally have never played one in my life. It seems like a lot of retro gamers are a fan of one of the following three consoles: the 3DO, Jaguar, or 32X; usually only one of the three and not multiple. I wouldn't mind trying out a 3DO, but I won't likely buy one as there aren't enough good games on it that you can't find on other platforms.

The controller was one of the worst I've ever used and that includes MadShatz products.

i was a huge 3do fan, super streetfighter 2, road rash, samurai shodown were actually good games. also a few weird ones like, twisted, bladeforce, return fire, microcabin did a few rpg's for this system, they look alot like weak versions of shining force 3 for sega saturn. I had a lot of fun playing 3do games, actually alot of these games never got ported to any other system. i wish i still had mine...

I own one... I like some games for it, but it is really hard to find quality games for the console. You have to dig through a large quantity of crap to get to the gold.

I would add to that the only console version of 'Star Control II' with added voice acting is on the 3DO

and while the original controller isn't the best, the logitech 3DO controller cant be beat.

weird concepts like daisy chain controllers up to 8

there is no encryption on the software, so just burn whatever image you want to CD and it works fine

I consider mine more an oddity than a must have, but its fun

i got my 3do from digital press in NJ paid forty bucks for all of the wires, controller and free game. The controller that came with the 3do FZ-1 (the one that looks like a VCR with the cd drive) Sucks really bad! Its way to big, but one cool thing about it is that it has a headphone input and adjustable volume on it. The second gen. controller that came with the FZ-10 is awsome! it feels alot like the SNES controller..
ROCK!! I think the 3do, alot like the dreamcast, was just to ahead of its time. It had Built game save ram, it can play video cds, image cds, audio cds, is region free! It was also pretty powerful for its day and was pretty much on the saturn/PSX level for graphics when it was used right. It was just to expenseive!!
