Can we have a thread for awesome metal style tunes in games? You know, video game music that sounds like metal (usually like power, neoclassical or speed metal) but is electronically composed.
Some examples and my favorites (some less than others, but they all have that metal feel to them imo)
Lords of Thunder - Bosque
Thunder Force IV - Metal Squad
Etrian Odyssey III - Hoist the Sword with Pride in the Heart
Etrian Odyssey III - Their Own Brand of Justice
Guilty Gear XX - Still in the Dark
Guilty Gear XX - Keep the Flag Flying
Destrega - Battle 1
Final Fantasy VII - Boss theme
Virtual On Oratorio Tangram: Bloody Sorrow
Valkyrie Profile - The key to singing the praises of victory
DBZ Budokai - Namek Theme
DBZ Raging Blast 2 - Gallant
Fighters Megamix- Ending C
Samurai Shodown - Earthquake
BlazBlue Continuum Shift - Howling Moon
Marvel vs Capcom - Wolverine

I love threads like this!
The FF7 boss music is forever etched into my memory.
Just from recent memory, but would these count?

Pretty sure the Guilty Gear stuff uses actual recorded instruments, not programming.Menegrothx wrote:Can we have a thread for awesome metal style tunes in games? You know, video game music that sounds like metal (usually like power, neoclassical or speed metal) but is electronically composed.

Didn't want to exclude one of the more better known games that have guitar heavy/metal based soundtracks

Could be off, but I believe Guilty Gear X was synth, and XX (and after) were actual recordings.AppleQueso wrote: Pretty sure the Guilty Gear stuff uses actual recorded instruments, not programming.
