Ok, so my dumb-ass bought an OXBOX on ebay and i didn't look to see but its region is the UK.
I was wondering why it wouldn't read disks.
Can anyone assist in removing this or getting past it someway?
If Im screwed you can also let me know that.
Thanks!!

Re: ORIGINAL XBOX REGION ISSUE
EDIT:
Im not home but I tried it last night. I put in a CD and then a DVD and both said they did not recognize the disk. My other xbox reads fine. Im gonna grab an XBOX game tonight to see if that will read.
I don't know if its just busted or the region has something to do with it.
HALP.

Re: ORIGINAL XBOX REGION ISSUE
could you elaborate? If this is the case I'd just as soon assume Im F****d.
I was planning on modding this xbox with a soft mod. I have a working xbox but didn't want to create FRANKEN-Xbox. I havent even looked inside yet though.
Someone suggested using the disk drive from XBOX a to softmod Xbox b then remove diskdrive in b to make room for a larger Hard Drive. That seems like crossing one systems like NTSC and PAL essentially.

Re: ORIGINAL XBOX REGION ISSUE
It is refusing to read discs from another region. I have no idea if the usual hacking will resolve the reading or playing of US games. I'd think it will, but I haven't investigated, so wait for someone else to weigh in.

Re: ORIGINAL XBOX REGION ISSUE
starting to think the region is not the issue since Audio CD's are not regionally stamped. Basically a CD should work in any CD player in the world.

That's true, I accidentally glazed over the CD bit.

Re: ORIGINAL XBOX REGION ISSUE
Soft modding will remove the region lock. I have a bunch of NTSC Only games I play on my PAL Xbox.
