I started playing Dust: an Elysian Tail
I started playing Dust: an Elysian Tail
Anyone else like this game? I'm only an hour into it, but I've already fallen in love with the hand painted backgrounds, the soundtrack, and the combat. I may even be warming up to the anime trope-ridden cast despite my better judgment. For something sold off for $7.50 in a steam sale this is quite a gem.

Re: I started playing Dust: an Elysian Tail
There was another topic on the board for this game, but yeah I love it and I think one or two other members here do too. In fact, Dust is one of the few games I would call perfect, and it's one of my favorite games of 2012. That was a great year for digital download games with Dust, Journey and Mark of the Ninja all being perfect or close to perfect 10 games in my eyes(I had some minor gripes with Mark of the Ninja).
You will enjoy Dust the further you get into it. It has some nice surprises. I think the mix of beat 'em up gameplay and magic is brilliant. The graphics are mind boggling. This game came out of nowhere and knocked my socks off last year

I've been playing it on my laptop while sitting in bed 30 minutes or so before going to sleep. It's reassuring to know the game gets better as I progress, it's already floored me with first impressions.
So Journey and Mark of the Ninja are good as well. I may have to check those out once I'm through with Dust.

Yeah, Mark of the Ninja is on PC now. It's great if you like stealth games and 2d games like Dust. Journey is an amazing game, but is PS3 only thoughAnayo wrote:I've been playing it on my laptop while sitting in bed 30 minutes or so before going to sleep. Here's that other thread about Dust. One of our podcasts covered the game and I think interviewed the developer too

Dust was one of my favorite games of last year. I need to run through it again sometime. You can tell it was a true labor of love. I'm still amazed that one guy made the whole thing pretty much by himself.

I recently started playing Dust as well and was quite impressed with my first impression as well.
