Modchip onto Japanese white Model 2 Sega Saturn - woot?

Hello everybody. First post in here.
I just remember when racketboy was just a Sega fan like me selling some stuff on the Sega Extreme forum with his gorgeous JSR avatar. So long has passed since then
Back to the topic: I got in my hands this gorgeous Saturn model 2. I've managed to add switchless PIC mod and was about to add the modchip (you know, I had 3 PAL Saturns, all gone dead suddendly for laser issues. No calibration brought them back alive )

The CD unit is different from the ones shown in the installation guide. I hoped the A+B thing would have worked, but it doesn't. Unit won't spin, nor laser will light. Seems the modchip cuts signals in/out the unit itself.
Anybody knows how to install it the standard way? I mean: which IC is about to be soldered to the signal pin?

The mainboard is what GamesX states as HiSaturn Navi in its mod page (look at the bottom)

Nevermind, I'm getting the modchip Rob Webb sells which seems to work on this very model, as a youtube states.

i can vouch for Robb Webb's version 2 Modchips , ive done 8 installs and all work great.


Also the Modchips went into White Japanese Saturns like in your pic , all my White Saturns are 32 Pin or 64 pin and no Sanyo's.

Yea, there's a specific youtube video in which somebody installs Rob's in this white one. That's why I'm sure it will work
