Best retro Basketball game?

Hi guys,
I'm going through genres that I didn't really play as a kid and basketball games is one of them. Some of the games on the Megadrive looked good, is that a good place to start? Graphics aren't important to me, I'm looking for tight controls and fun gameplay.

well NBA Jam is a given. But are you looking for more of a basketball sim rather than an arcade style game?

I like Double Dribble (nes) and Slam N Jam 95 (3do), Thats all I can suggest. NBA Live was good then too.

NBA Street is cool, been meaning to revist it to see if it is still worth playing.
