Hi everyone,
I have a question concerning the PSP. I currently own a PSP-3000 and its custom firmware 6.60 Pro-C. I own a Happauge HD PVR and I finally got some hookups for my PSP just today.
When hooking it up to my PSP and when I switched the video output, it was a success. I was able to see my PSP through my television and was able to hear sound and move across the selection screen. However, when trying to play games through my UMD or Isos, PSP games would cause the console to freeze for 15 seconds then shut off afterwards. For PSX games, it was able to play PSX games and it would display the video, but there would be no audio coming from it.
After this, I decided to try and play the UMD PSP game without the custom firmware so regular 6.60 and I was able to successfully play the game with both audio and video in tact. I was wondering if it was possible to find any other additional mods to be able to support playing iso and UMD games through custom firmware? Thank you for taking the time to read this.
UPDATE:
Was playing Final Fantasy VIII on PSP while connected, while on the menu screen when selecting what option I want I hear the sound effect briefly when switching before the sound completely goes off. The same goes with the PSX title screen as it plays for a moment and then shut off.
Also, these are the cables that I have purchased.

We have a nearly identical setup - I have a PSP-3000 and Hauppauge HD PVR so I can record footage off it and I can play using the external video output without any problems. Only difference seems to be is that I've got 6.60 Pro-C2 CFW on mine. Try changing to that?

Re: PSP - Switch Video Output with custom firwmare
I was about to write that I was having the same outcome but then I tried something different. I decided to go through my recovery menu and see about adjusting the plugins. I tinkered around with that and finally managed to get my PSP games to project on my memory card so I can post PSP games and emulators such as for the Sega CD. I'm still having trouble with trying to project PSX games on my television. Before I was able to play Final Fantasy VIII PSN, now it doesn't even start up, even when it's not connected to the video output. A shame to so far because I was hoping to play PSX games and PSP games on my television. I probably have to do some more adjustments to get these working.
Update: Found out that Pro-C2 has a compatibility issue with PSN games. However, there is still an issue with PSX games, it will play for the first part, then on the television the audio will come out. When trying to record on my happauge, there is no video or audio being projected but it recognizes that something is plugged in because there is a black screen as opposed to a blue screen.
