Sega Pluto

Post by zidane »

Whats up guys? I'm still relatively new to the racket boy forums. So forgive me if I am posting in the wrong area.
I'm sure everyone is aware of the recently discovered and sold prototype of the Sega Pluto. Apparently there is only 2 known to be in exsistance. Basically the pluto is a sega saturn in a very different looking clamshell with the net link modem built in.
Anyways this holy grail of sega sold for $15,500 on Ebay. Actually I'm not even sure if it sold as it had a higher reserve price then the highest bid. Heres the link if anyone missed it. Also the guy who originally bought it paid one dollar for it at a flea market.

I was curious to hear what the racket boy community thought about this incredible find. Do you guys think the pluto is worth 15.5k/ if anyone had the extra money would you purchase it. Do you guys think "investing" in the Sega Pluto was a good idea, as in it will continue to increase in price. Personally I think that because of there only being 2 known to exist the price will fluctuate greatly depending on demand at that time. Lastly what do you guys think the chanses of the pluto being a counterfeit, with a homemade shell filled with the guts of a US saturn. I bring that up because, again there are only 2 known to exist, so if this one was fake its not like a store or private party would have much to compare it to, in attempt to autenticate it.
Alright guys thanks for reading, im eager to hear any responses, and racket boy, thanks for putting together one hell of a website!
