Need some help, soft modding the oXbox

Post by floattube »

So I have all the tools necessary, the AR and Splinter Cell. The only problem is that I can't use my AR. My PC can detect it, but it won't let me use it to transfer files. I have installed the Action Replay software and it still doesn't work. I am using Windows 7 64bit.

Download a program called "Xplorer360". Should fix you right up.

"Could not get a FATX drive to open!"
I'm not sure what to do... Do you have any ideas?

it's been awhile but i believe the 64 bit os is your problem. i remember reading something in the tutorial i used years ago that there wasn't any 64 bit drivers for xbox memory cards. prolly have to use a different computer.

That sucks. I only have two computers which are both 64bit. Oh well. Maybe I can use a Virtual OS or whatever they are called.

Will using a Virtualbox with Windows XP 32bit work? Because I am willing to go that far to mod my xbox.

XP x86 would be fine in VirtualBox.

(I would have pointed that out as an option, but you said your device was recognized by Windows x64. I just assumed that maybe someone had done up an x64 driver by this point.)

Oh boy is it going to be a long night... I'm tired of my Xbox just sitting there though and I'm not going to do anything else tonight. Thanks for the information. Hopefully everything will work out fine!

I think someone around here loans out modding kits.

You shouldn't need AR, 32 bit windows, or installing drivers.

From what I remember the right USB memory stick with an adapter works.
Lum fan.
