should i buy a psp go

Post by mas »

Just wondering if I should get a psp go. I own a psp 3000 and love it but I'm interested in the psp go because of how cool the thing looks.

If you aren't looking at hacking it, I would consider putting the money towards a Vita instead.

mas,

i'm right there with you. I love the look of the go and have been patiently waiting for a 16gb white one to cross my way at a decent price. The average CL and eBay prices seem to put it ar around a $75 price tag.
I fully intend to mod it since I have visions of how sick the GB Mega Man games will look in their black and white pixelated resolution against the sparkly clean white PSP Go shell.

yeah, i've thought about this way too much.

I'm predicting that PSP gos are going to be rather rare in the future, if you can find one with the box for cheap get it.

One thing to consider is that the PSP go uses M2 sticks for memory. Meaning you are locked into small sizes and Sony's cost structure if you want to upgrade the 16GB on-board. With the older PSP models, you get the benefit of being able to use a SD to Memory Stick adapter and paying market price for larger capacity memory.

This is main reason that I have not gotten one, despite what I consider to be a nicer form factor.

Thanks for all the feedback. I wanted to get one but since I own a bunch of umd's for the psp I think I will just invest in another one since my son lost my psp and capcom collection 1 and 2.
