question: I couldn't get exactly what he did to one hit kill the boss.

Yeah, it's a bit weird, but it looks like he did a paraloop and caught the boss's tail in it. I know that attacking the boss's head doesn't kill it in one shot, at least not when I do it. Since the tale has spikes on it, I think a paraloop is the only way to attack it.
