PCE and NEOGEO emulation

Post by dtrack »

Are there worthwile emulators for Saturn, GC, N64, DC?
I tried one for DC, can't remember its name but had no multiplayer support. I've only tried Bomberman for the PCE though.
So it's important to have multiplayer support and sound.

SSF is the best Saturn emulator, its pretty good, but has a long long way to go.

Gamecube/Wii emulator is Dolphin its one of my favorite emulators period, so amazing, but you need a bluetooth to use the wiimotes for most wii games. You can input any controller that works on your computer as the gamecube controller, and theres a handful of great wii games which use it.

N64 is Project64, very good but not great as it should be on nonAAA titles.

Dreamcast has NullDC, its good. You need to unplug the controller input then go back and choose puropuro and then input to use your controller.

NEO GEO i still use winkawaks for simplicity and it plays cps 1&2 games as well.

PCE has Ootake, a really awesome emulator which plays cd games too.

For TG16/PCE, TurboEngine is a fine choice. It shares the same codebase as Kega Fusion (SMS/Gen/SegaCD). TurboEngine also runs CD games.

What do you mean by that exactly? It runs everything I've thrown at it pretty much perfectly. It could use some graphical enhancements/filters and I guess hardware acceleration could be implemented but it gives you a pretty authentic experience in my opinion.

Dolphin has a ways to go. Sound emulation is problematic, it usually is glitchy or slows the game to a hault. Some games work ok, but others not so much. Give it some time and it will get there. The graphical upgrades are great tho.

Probably depends on computer/graphics card and such and if you have the artificial ram packs in.

Thanks. Zophar is very incomplete so i dropped it a long time ago.
I have tried the neo4all for DC but there were bugs and slowdown. I've done a little google search and found GxGeo and NeoCD Redux for GC. Are they any better, which one?

noiseredux and lisalover are going to be the people to ask about that. While the gamecube is my main system, they know WAY more about it than I do.
