burning saturn games

Post by seitil »

hey guys i ripped some of my saturn games and have the files on my computer. I have a model 1 saturn with a ram cart and i have been able to play other copied games with the swap trick fine, but recently i have burned some games and they are not working. Since the older games i had my friend burn Idk if he did something different but what i have been doing is burning bin cue files through nero by just putting both in an burning at 16x. Is there something i am missing here? sorry its a noob question but i havn't been able to find a discernable answer lol. also i got one with mds mdf, any difference there?

Different media? It can make a difference - I just had to reburn some Dreamcast stuff because the TDK media I was using wasn't recognized. Also, always burn at the slowest possible speed.

Taiyo yuden disks all the way

they are one of the first companies to release commercial CD-Rs way back when (back when CD-Burners where the external drives that looked like VCRs). They are affordable, and REALLY well made. That and the dye colour they choose is so close to silver that most any CD-Rom I throw them in pick them up with no trouble.

and when I say affordable... I mean affordable. 100 packs run for 15 to 25 dollars on the internet. If you look hard enough you can find them for as low as 10 US dollars for 100 packs (that's what I got my last batch for... bought 1000 of them along with 500 DVD-Rs and 100 layer 2 DVD-Rs... don't remember where, but it was just under 160 dollars for all of them).

I second that vote for Taiyo Yuden. I've never had any problems with them. You can find them all over the place too (amazon, newegg, etc).

The other problem could be how your burning them I guess... Check the CUE sheet to make sure it's pointing to the right place. Also, I have much better luck by mounting the image first, then burning 1 to 1 with CloneCD. Nero didn't always work for me when I was using it.
