Question about the Saturn 3D controller

Post by FerretGamer »

I received a 3D controller in the mail today and this is my first time actually holding one in person. Anyways, is the analog control supposed to be kinda stiff? I mean its not smooth as say a Dreamcast analog stick or any modern analog stick. It just feels strange, I wish I could describe it better but is it supposed to be like that?

The controller itself is in excellent condition, it actually looks brand new. I wish I had some experience with these controllers so I know what is typical. I'll have to test it out later tonight with Nights and Christmas Nights and see how it works.

The stick is kinda funky feeling, but it works. It doesn't really feel anything like a modern controller.

Night's gives me thumb blisters if I try to play it on a normal pad, but it feels nice on the 3D controller.

A quick word of warning, Panzer Dragoon Zwei is kinda glitchy with the 3D pad, the R button for some reason causes the berzerk fire to go off when you're just trying to move the camera, and it usually happens during inopportune moments. I want to get a mission stick for that game someday.

Awesome, thank you for the help. It definitely feels strange but it's a really comfortable controller to hold.

Mission stick is on my list of wants but I need to get a pair of stunners before I do that. I'm also slowly getting more controllers (got 5 now) for some 10 player Bomberman action. :D

A couple of my analog pads have gone off-center just a hair from the pad getting a little loose. Any way to tighten these up?

Quite! I often use it more than the standard Saturn Controller. The controllers build quality feels excellent to me. The D pad feels identical to the standard Controller, and dare I say the face buttons feel slightly better also.

The 3D Saturn controller is one of my favorites when it comes to comfort. Absolutely love that pad. Yeah the analog nub-ball-thingy is a bit odd, but once you get used to it, it works great.

You should direct your questions to busomjack. He is kind of an expert on the Staurn 3d controller.
