http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/03/15/civil ... diplomacy/
9 new civs, new victory type (Cultural vs Culture), alternative route to Diplomatic, improved culture and diplomacy, new Great Person types and more things to do during modern eras.
Confirmed Civs
Poland- Lead by Casimir III (versatile, has bonuses for culture and midgame military)
Brazil- Lead by Pedro II (Cultural, huge benefits from Golden Ages)
Assyria- Lead by Ashurbanipal (Scientific, some cushion for early game)
Zulu- Lead by Shaka (early/midgame military, uniques work in ranged and melee)
Portugal- Lead by Maria I (Trade/Diplomacy, especially with city-states)
Morocco- Lead by Ahmad al-Mansur (Merchant/Trade)
Indonesia- Lead by Gajah Mada (Versatile, some edge in trade)
Shoshone- Lead by Pocatello (Expansionist, can claim huge swathes of land quickly)
Venice- Lead by Enrico Dandolo (Merchantile, can only build one city but insta-annex city-states)

First thought too lol. You actually can make a Dictatorship simulator by using trade routes to funnel all the resources from satellite cities to another like the capital.fastbilly1 wrote:oooh, the Huxley version.
Anyways, only confirmed Civ is Poland. Their unique unit is unsurprisingly Winged Hussars, and their power is Solidarity, which gives them a free social policy every time they enter a new Era, which is a stupidly versatile power.
Civs I'd like to see- Mali Empire, Zulu Kingdoms (one or both of these is likely because one of the scenarios listed is based on colonial expansion into Africa), Portugal, Hittite, Khmer Empire, and one or more Native American civs, preferably the Sioux and/or Cherokee nations.

Someone stupidly observant was able to deduce that one of the unannounced civs has a high chance of being Assyria.
Note the battering ram outside of Poland's territory next to the Great General
compare to Assyrian-styled battering rams.

And yes, more expansions for Civ! The game has greatly surpassed 4 in my mind but more stuff to do is great

So I'm watching the Firaxis panel, where they're talking X-COM and Civ. They said BNW was going to have the Pueblo people, but they pulled them out because the modern Pueblo asked them not to. Still no substantial announcements.
EDIT: Stateside release 7/9, international release 7/12.
EDIT: Brazil confirmed, lead by Pedro II.
EDIT: Assyria confirmed too.

Really looking forward to this. Only just purchased Civ V this year, and being my first Civ game I was completely lost at first. Now that I have the mechanics down though I'm addicted to the gameplay! I'll be getting this expansion day one.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

Brazil's going to be using the new Cultural Victory system, but I agree that Portugal would have been perfect to use the new trade route system with.General_Norris wrote:Brazil, but not Portugal? What the hell?AmishSamurai wrote:EDIT: Brazil confirmed, lead by Pedro II.
