Model 2 Sega CD Disc Won't Spin
Model 2 Sega CD Disc Won't Spin
Hey guys! I got a Model 2 Sega CD from Ebay awhile back and I can't get it to work. I get the bios screen and the laser moves but discs won't spin at all and when I push start, it takes me to the music cd player and says there's no disc. I assume the problem is with the motor, but before I write it off as dead, I was hoping there might be something I could do to try and fix it. If anyone here knows how to repair one of these things, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What sort of power adapter are you using? Some really cheap and crappy 3rd party ones don't actually provide enough voltage to power the Sega CD properly.

I have an official Sega CD power supply and it is the correct voltage.

check to see if there is a pot on the laser assembly normally with the BJT amp they use the Bdc is going to be a huge number and overtime it will vary play with the pot screw till it will read. its two yellow screw looking things becareful with them and just move it slightly till it will work. its on the pcb to the left of the assembly.
