My fantastic wife won me a wii last night on ebay! That means I'm officially latest generation for the first time since the saturn died.
As a collector I'm obviuosly going to keep the box in pristine condition along with all the bags that go over the plugs and everything, but then so will thousands of other people which makes it less worthwhile keeping, if you know what I mean. 30 or even 5 years ago most poeple would have thrown out the boxes not knowing that the collectors market was just around the corner, but now most people know that there is value in vintage boxed consoles..
Anyway, cant wait for the postman
I got a Wii!

I sure will. I wonder why the wii gives us all one number each while the DS has different number for each and every online game you play. I think some of nintendos choices are weird. eg in this months ONM in the ask nintendo page someone asked why they region locked the wii and the rep answered it was to make sure that the right region got the right kind of content (like Manhunt 2) which is a fair enough answer but then there are things like the mental japenese games that hardcore westerners love to play that dont infringe on any censorship laws, they just choose not to sell them too us, and then in complete contradiction the DS is completely region free - the way it should be. I just dont understand

Yeah I can see that not everyone wants to play japanese games, and they may not be worth all the translating and shipping but leaving the console unlocked means that people can buy imports if they want and the games publisher still gets a sale from that which they wouldnt have otherwise. oh well, what do I know. Roll on that postman

That is one of the few things I like about the PS3. Saves having to worry about getting a mod chip if your wanting to use it legitimately for import games.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
