PSP video out modding

Post by MarauderEX »

Ok, so I have a PSP 3000 currently using the official 6.60 firmware (dont know any other specifications on the system)

I can successfully install various 6.60 custom light firmware configurations, the most success I have had is with 6.60 PRO C2.

Now my goal/desire is to output gameplay in full screen, now the 3000 can use both composite and component cables for video out to a monitor but only the home screen is full sized when the game loads it crops down considerably.

I have heard of 2 programs that can work around this, one being FuSa and the other being Remote Joy Lite. I have tried broth of these programs and ran into hurdles with both.

FuSa will freeze and lock up the system until I do a battery pull, I have heard that it is because it is on 6.60 but I have not been able to confirm that.

Remote joy worked well for a moment displaying the PSP home screen on my monitor but when I tried to load a game the screen went black or just stuck on the "PSP" screen.

So for anyone out there familiar with PSP mods, what can I do to fix it so that I can get full screen out on one of these plugins. is it the 3000 thats the problem as it seems the least hackable, or is it the firmware itself? any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wish I could help. Might be tough getting an answer as I believe most don't utilize the video out feature. Hopefully someone can help out though.

It IS doable, but it looks like total crap.

What you'll need is:

your installed CFW
FuSa plugin
PSP slim component cable (composite only works for video)

After you get your CFW setup (which it seems you have), install the FuSa plugin. When you run whatever game, press and hold whatever button your FuSa build wants to pull up the menu, and select the screen output you wish you use... and that's it!
