TurboGrafx displaying scrolling lines

Post by clackattack »

So I scooped up a TG16 from a local shop yesterday. Sweet deal, got the Turbo Booster with it, but when i hook it up via the turbo booster to my LED tv, its displaying faint scrolling static-like bars. It looks similar to when an old TV would display the 60Hz cycle, so i tried a different power supply and even plugged in on different jacks at my house... same thing still. When i hook it thru the RF port, it still does the same thing, its just not quite as noticeable....either way im hoping this is something thats an easy fix, otherwise it looks like this guy is getting returned and im taking my business to Ebay!

I don't have a turbobooster.

But have you tried using it on a normal tube TV?

Some hdtv's are picky with some old consoles, especially with rf.

I have some 2600's that don't work with new TVs and a Dreamcast that messes up with rf on new TVs too.

Do you also have all original parts? Maybe that's something you have to factor in.

Some have modded their TG16 consoles to work with more modern stuff. Maybe you can do it too?

What power supply are you using, the correct one? If you have a Genesis model 1 brick, you can try that out too to rule out power brick issues. DO NOT use a NES brick though.
