Fire Emblem Awakening: The thread of the game

Post by Anayo »

I'm a little concerned about the supply problem with this game. When I saw it announced on gaming news sites I assumed I could buy a copy later, but now copies are showing up on eBay for $60 and every website I visit says 'out of stock'. Is there any word on whether this is going to get rememied, or am I just out of luck?

If so, I would be annoyed. Artifically creating a supply shortage is annoying.

Nintendo seems to always strange the supply of Fire Emblem games here. Ever since the GBA titles, they've been hard to find when they come out.

They were hard to find at Walmart and Kmart and stores that only sell the big franchise games, but I never had a problem finding a copy at Gamestop or Best Buy or Amazon. It used to be a matter of simply finding the right store.

I'm starting to wonder if this is part of a Nintendo plan to push their download-only service and phase out physical copies of certain games since they wouldn't have to pay for the manufacturing. I can't imagine what else Nintendo would have to gain by creating a shortage. :? :( If this is the case, the retailers certainly won't be pleased. :?:

Like the OP, I'm concerned too because I planned to buy and treasure this game, but I never got a chance to get a copy.

But NEVER to this degree. I'm starting to wonder if this is part of a plan to push their download-only service and phase out physical copies of their games. I don't think they're trying to create a shortage. I think they just don't have a good grasp on how popular the series may or may not be. Don't forget we missed out on the DS remake of FE3 after FE1's remake didn't do so well, sales wise. I think they're erring on the side of caution because a deficiency in the physical copies can be made up by people who want to play the game getting the downloaded version. If your goal is just to play the game then the digital is just as good as the physical.

That theory makes more sense than my conspiracy theory.

I found a copy at the local Best Buy even though their website says they don't have it. They had several other copies too.

You might have to do it the old fashioned way and visit some stores and/or call around (not trying to sound like a smartass or anything).
