Fondest memories of your youth/childhood playing videogames

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Fondest memories of your youth/childhood playing videogames

Post by SNKnicotine »

Ever recall a memory of your youth/childhood gaming that you'd love to share with people but have never been presented with the chance to do so....
Well now's your chance share some of the best times you've had with games.

I remember I missed 3 days of school (mon, tues and, thurs) after getting the SNES with double dragon (keep in mind I was 6). I completely got engulfed in street fights to the point that I would only come out to eat. the worst part was that the only TV I could play my SNES on was on an old 10" Daewoo TV conveniently located in my parents room…. guess who slept in his parents room!

I got Mono when I was like 5 or 6 and I remember me and my brother playing smash bros melee on a gamecube that they rolled in my room.

General Childhood gaming memories.

Post by TheRev »

I saw a thread about Child hood gaming fights and Christmas memories but no real general memories of childhood gaming.

Lord knows I have a ton. I think half the reason the School Psychologist liked me so much was that teachers were wondering why I was running around jumping and shooting things while Humming (Which was generally the Flash Man stage music)

Then there were the people in Arcades that thought I was a white Urkle (FUCK YOU voice of sonic Fuck you) So this one time I'm in an arcade and this fat kid kept taunting me. He's gone for a good half hour so I figure ok it's all. I go play Final Fight and he starts hitting the top of my head. So I using the momentum of the Machine to mule kid his fat ass into the prize case just behind us. I move on playing like nothing.

I got more...I have tons of these stories.

How did this get past me Because I just made another thread about this in General gaming
Like the exact same thread almost at the exact same time.

Post in that one, post in this one, merge them, whatever

If this thread is Blu Ray and my thread is HD-DVD Here are my stories.

One of my earliest childhood memories involving video games (aside from playing a capture the flag style game, that I can never remember the title of, on the NES at a friend's house) was not too long after my parents had gotten me a Genesis for Christmas: I came home from school and saw my dad sitting around playing Sonic 2--which we had both been playing a lot of--but he had the look of a person who had been playing a game all day. I asked him what he was doing, and he told me he got to the Wing Fortress Zone--a zone I had maybe only ever seen once before. When I sat down to watch him play I noticed his extra life stock, and he looked at me exuding pride, and told me that he had spent hours in this small loop where he had found two lives and would kill himself; rinse, wash, repeat. So, for the rest of the afternoon, and into part of the night, we had over 50 lives to try beat the Death Egg Zone with, and lost every single one of them.

It was on a cart with a TV on top.

I know, I was kidding.

My early gaming memories kind of suck to share, because my taste was kind of terrible before I was 12.
