UPDATING THIS THREAD TO A MORE EXPANSIVE AUDIENCE:
Please post and discuss any Action / Adventure / or RPG's for the SNES that can be group or co-op played (either with multiple controllers, or at least in regard to group puzzle solving, etc) and beaten in a few days.
ORIGINAL POST: I have an extended weekend as do my kids - out of nowhere they asked if we could have a SNES weekend, which I thought was pretty cool since they got all Wii / 3DS stuff for the holidays.
I have plenty of short time filler stuff, but am looking to also put some time into an RPG / Action game w/fun story - since I haven't played one in years and my kids are finally getting to the age where they can all read (3 can, 1 cant), follow a story, and help solve a puzzle.
I'm looking for something that:
-Can be beaten in 12-24 hours of gameply
-Not repeatedly turn-based battles
-Not incessant dialogue (some is expected of course, even moderate, but not a dialogue screen fest)
-Has lots of action and moderately challenging puzzles
-Has quest type features
-Doesn't take 3 hours to "hook" me
I have most titles, so let me know what game best meets this criteria. I'm leaning toward either EVO since i've never played it and it looks very interesting or Zelda since I know I won't be disappointed.
*Please don't reply with: "Lufia" and then nothing else. I seriously have not played these in years and have so little recollection of most titles outside of Zelda and the Final Fantasy games...so please make a pick or two and let me know why.
Group / Family SNES Adventure & RPG's to beat in a Weekend
Re: 3-Day weekend, want a challenging action oriented SNES R
Soulblazer or Terranigma
I beat A Link to the Past with my 4 year old daughter in November. It was great although we blew through it. I rushed and didn't do a 100% complete but she didn't care. It was a good time. Played about 10 one hour sessions over the course of 5 weeks.
Wish I had more time to play but I know you understand.

Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
probably the most fun, shortest, most linear rpg on the SNES, i highly recommend it.

Mystic Quest is actually a lot of fun as long as you go into it expecting it to be a really easy and linear RPG-starter game rather than something deep and intense.

i don't have a Terranigma translation, but I have Soul Blazer and Demon's Crest, was thinking one of those perhaps as well. Really don't know anything about either of them.
I didn't love Mystic Quest 15 years ago, but I know i'd prefer over over the II and III, because those were never my cup of tea...

Illusion of Gaia.
It's a pretty fun arpg with some nice graphics. Fairly linear if I remember correctly. I don't really remember it that well it's been quite awhile since I've played it. Sorry bro

^Yeah, thought of that as well. We're playing Wild Guns right now. Holy crap this game is hard, and my partners are awful
Re: 3-Day weekend, want a challenging action oriented SNES R
The first one that came to mind for me was Soul Blazer, but apparently it was someone else's first-game-that-came-to-mind too, so carry on!
(seriously, it pretty much fits your criteria spot on. Fast paced, reasonable dialogue, no turn based battles, tons of action and it should fit in a 3 day period.)

Thanks for the picks:
Have it narrowed to:
Soul Blazer
Zelda LttP
Mario RPG
Kids are trying to play through Turtles IV right now, but after that we'll give each of those 3 a 10-minute run and see which one they choose to continue on with.
