Saturn/ Jamma Mod: buzzing sound from speakers

Have has a mooded saturn/ jamma cab for some time works great except the sound is dodgy.
Its mono, setup with the basics of wiring, tested on 2 different speakers and they both have the same problem: a buzzing noise. Theres no obvious wrong, so is it just the age of the speaker (original 1980 something)? if so what would be recommended please?

buzzing is generally electrical noise, try grounding the speaker system better to the saturn and any external amp the speakers use
