My famicom, I've used forever. Very recently, the video would not show up anymore. Just a monochrome screen. Since it was no longer working, I tried cleaning the cartridge holder with rubbbing alcohol on a cotton swab. I tried to not use too much rubbing alcohol. The cartridge slot was very dirty. None of the games still worked after that. Then I tried cleaning out dust on the inside of the famicom. This was not helpful as I seem to have stretched the wires of the video card too far out.
So, a few of the colored wires came off from the video card. do you think this is bad, or can they just be "connected" back? Was my famicom done for anyway? I think it's been about 10 years.

Famicom video input/output inquiry
Re: Famicom video input/output inquiry
You can just resolder the wires back. A blank grey screen is typical of a bad cart connection. Clean the cart slot and all of your cart contacts thoroughly.
