Update: I am an f-ing idiot. You simply swipe up on the paused gamepad screen to move between TV and gamepad. Too much beer for me tonight...

If you're talking about Sonic ... you shouldn't feel too bad, it's not like it says anything about it in the game, manual, or any related materials.
