Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask?
I recently bought a N64 and was wanting to get a zelda game for it. My local retro gaming store sells OoT for 17$, and they have a bunch of copies. Majora's Mask, however, is about 25$ and I would need to buy a expansion pack, which is about 20$. Im on a budget (kind of), so Ocarina of Time wouldseem like a better choice. I have the 3d version of Ocarina of Time, though. Please give me your opinion. Thanks!

Ocarina of Time to start on, for sure. Not only is it an all around better game, but it's not as frustrating. It's so annoying to be in a dungeon and seeing that clock countdown, knowing you're not gonna make it to the boss before time runs out.
After Ocarina, though, you might be up for the Majora's Mask challenge.

Two things:
First, the 3ds version of ocarina is the best version of that game available. I would say you don't really need the 64 version unless you want it for collection's sake.
Second, majora's mask is the better game of the two. Its worth the extra money.
My opinion: get majora. It rocks.

Well both are great games in their own means, is just is what you prefer more.
If you enjoy the adventure of the dungeons Ocarina has more. Majora's on the other hand has a lot more of sidequest's to back up the lack of dungeons.
I enjoy more majora's for the history itself and how they took eveything that made ocarina good and make it better.
For ocarina the version to get is the 3DS since is been upgraded and as a unlockable has the master quest witch is ocarina of time but the dungeons have changes on them and are harder.

Get the 3DS version of OoT if you can, then get Majora's Mask for the N64. No reason to only play one or the other.
OoT is better than Majora's Mask IMO, but MM seems to become more and more loved the older it gets. Sort of like Wind Waker. I find that strange, because I can remember when the Zelda fandom considered MM to be merely a decent but strange entry, and WW was kiddy crap. I wonder how long until Twilight Princess becomes an underrated classic?

Since you already have the 3d version of OOT, save up more and get Majoras Mask. No reason to buy the same game twice when you have the better version.
Honestly, I dont like MM, I find it the second weakest title of the core saga, with TP being the worst. Windwaker was inventive, cheerful, had an amazing score, and my favorite final boss fight out of any Zelda style game ever. MM and I just didnt get along, and still dont - I hate the time limit, but love the boss fight in the desert. TP however gave us awesome items that they not used outside of the dungeons you found them in, had a silly story, and had ridiculously easy boss battles. My controls issue was fixed when playing it on the Gamecube, but it was still the worst Zelda Ive played in a long time.BoringSupreez wrote:I find that strange, because I can remember when the Zelda fandom considered MM to be merely a decent but strange entry, and WW was kiddy crap. It already goes for around $30 at the cheapest (the Gamecube version). I know because it's the one I still need.BoringSupreez wrote:I wonder how long until Twilight Princess becomes an underrated classic?

Agreed. Majora's Mask is definitely worth getting now. Ocarina will always be around, easily accessible and cheap if you ever decide you need it for collection's sake.CFFJR wrote:Two things:

Ocarina of Time seems to be appropriately priced for a game store but $25 for Majoras ask is a bit much. I am sure you could score a copy here on Racketboy this year for $15-20 shipped. Also the expansion pack could be had for $5-10 instead of $20.

Prices have been going up on MM. He might still be able to find it here for $20 shipped, but that would be a steal.8bit wrote:Ocarina of Time seems to be appropriately priced for a game store but $25 for Majoras ask is a bit much.
