Ok, I play the Nintendo branded version of Tetris a LOT... I love the simplicity of the game. I real staple in the correct way to make a game... easy to understand rules, no gore, infinite replayability, technically no end.
Anyways... it has a max score of 999,999 points, which I broke a long time ago. So recently I've been working on getting there earlier (ending on the lowest level possible). There's several different ways to gain more points: multipliers are given for destroying more then 1 row in a kill maxing out with the 'tetris' (a 4 line kill), holding down when dropping your piece, and the higher the level you are on.
Using all my skill I've been able to max out my score as early as level 23... more often I max out at level 24. I just can't get past this barrier. Has anyone else been able to do it?
... I do use the hold A and press start to add 10 to the starting level of choice. my sweet spot is starting on level 12. Oh and I've found it is nearly impossible for me to get past level 29, that's the other thing I try to do.
Nintendo version of Tetris top score...
