Genesis controllers
anybody here use a different controller for the Genesis other than the Genesis controllers? I find the D pad to be a little off. Looking for suggestions on other controllers that can be used

Re: Genesis controllers
By "genesis controller" are we just talking about the standard 3 button pad or are we including the 6-button ones in that too?

Re: Genesis controllers
well I only have the 3 button controllers. I heard that the 6 button ones might be a little better? I was looking for something similar to the NES D pad where it's only up down left and right direction. The genesis controller d pad is more rounded so sometimes I press down to make a character on the game duck but instead he'll move left or right

Re: Genesis controllers
D-pad is kinda similar to the normal pad's, but it's a bit 'deeper' all around and feels more precise.
Controller itself also has a much smaller form factor, closer to the size of the SNES controller.

Re: Genesis controllers
afaik there aren't any genesis games that require you to have a 6 button pad, though some are really awkward to play without it.SamuraiMegas wrote:FTFY. You need one for some games.brainerdrainer wrote:Cool thanks man. I have to get me one of those

Re: Genesis controllers
I believe Nintendo has a patent on the cross design. That's why other companies D pads are generally a disc with a raised cross and Sony has the segmented one.brainerdrainer wrote:I was looking for something similar to the NES D pad where it's only up down left and right direction.
