I got my brother in law's family into twin stick shooters yesterday with Geometry Wars, and made a transition to 'I made a game with zombies in it' and an indie game called 'Zombie Estate'.
They particularly liked the shooter style where you buy your weapons with cash that your save between rounds. Does anyone have any suggestions for games I can play with them?

Love Geometry Wars! Look for the Midway Treasures for the original XBox, Robotron 2084. There was a 360 live version, but I think it was removed. To really get into Twinstick games get a duel player Arcade Stick and mod the second player stick to the primary face buttons.
There's an indie game called I made a game with zombies, you should definitely look into it. It was a dollar when I got it years ago and was amazing amounts of fun.
Edit I misspelled the name of the game I'm not sure how to spell it but I know made is for sure misspelled in the title of the game.
Well, I think Geometry Wars in PGR is the only twin-stick shooter on the Xbox that I know of. Now, if you were talking about the Xbox 360, that would be a completely different story.
