Genesis Fans - What Controller are You Using?
What controller are the Genesis emu-folks using on their emulators?
When I emulate Genesis I use a Logitech F310 which works well enough - but it bothers me to not have the buttons in the correct configuration.
How have others resolved this issue?

Re: Genesis Fans - What Controller are You Using?
I use this badboy:

Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad Pro.
Its kinda old but it works. No analog, but that doesnt matter when I use it for emulated Sega. Once again being old stuff the buttons are functional, but pressing them seems weird.
I do sometimes use it for SNES too. I've gotten used to it.
Theres an older four button one too. It has shoulder buttons but no start. I own it, but I prefer this 6 button one.
I also have one of these

Interact/Performance Pro Pad 6 (or 8, I guess)
These come with the old ports that go in the back of the computer. Mine (or at least how I got it) came with a USB adapter.
Its okay, but the buttons contacts seem different. Probably reflects its third-partyness.
Well, it seems that most everyone is used to four button gaming now. With added analog. You may get lucky finding one of the six button controlers at a thrift store or fleamarket. Or you can go the easy route on Amazon.
hope this helps.

You might also try a usb adapter, like this one:

Then you can use an actual Genesis controller.

Blasphemy!BoneSnapDeez wrote:SNES controller with a USB adapter.
I've definitely used the Mayflash SNES to Wii adapter when emulating a Genesis game on the Wii before. But I didn't like it, I swear!
Now, if for some reason I'm emulating the Genesis, I'll use my model two US Saturn pad through the MagicBox into the modded Xbox.
On my real Genesis (sorry for the Off Topic) I like to use the classic 3 button controller with the red labeled buttons and d-pad arrows as much as I can, but I have a nice 6 button controller for when I need it.

Re: Genesis Fans - What Controller are You Using?
I just use the Xbox 360 controller. It's super compatible with my PC, and I like the way it feels.
I'd kill though, to have a USB adapter for an original controller. I actually asked for one for Christmas that has inputs for Nintendo platforms and Sega. Hopefully I get it! LOL.
